Up Rooted Tree

Found on Studland Beach in Dorset. I was walking along the beach when I saw this and wondered about the story of how it got it there as there didn't appear to be any more trees near by of that size, and how long it had been there.

Ivy Bee Colletes Hederae

Belton Hills Nature Reserve, Essex. Ivy bees migrated to southern England from continental Europe about twenty years ago and have now colonised much of the UK. It nests in the ground (sometimes in huge aggregagtions) and is the last of the solitary bees to emerge (August/September).

Found in woodland in Sheffield. Autumn is the best time for looking for Fungi, but never touch/eat unless you have an expert with you!
